The 2012 Porsche Cayman R Gallery

The Porsche Cayman R was unveiled at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Another gallery for the all the Porsche fans out there. Porsche was celebrating its 60th birthday last week at the 2010 LA Auto Show. I've already taken a look at the limited edition  Speedster and thought you might enjoy this Cayman R.

The Honda Fit EV should be available just in time for the apocalypse. Brains power not mentioned as part of co-generation plan.

The 2012 Fit EV Conept is revealed at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show
Needless to say I was a little disappointed Honda was showing a Fit EV that won't be coming out until 2012. I'm not sure what's up with Honda's total power domination vision of the future either but it is somewhat inline with what I have been thinking since I started covering the auto show circuit 4 years ago. The future's power sources are fragmented...

Remember the Yugo? What about the Honda EV Plus?

Honda EV on display at this years LA Auto  Show.

One of the 340ish EV Plus vehicles produced between 1997 and 1999 was on hand as Honda introduced the new Fit EV(more on that coming up). While it may look like a Yugo, it had quite respectable specs even for 2010. An 8 hour charge cycle would result EPA rated range of 190km (120 miles). I'm sure Honda didn't have any trouble finding homes for the very few that they made but the MSRP of $53,900 would have been a little too shocking for the masses. Honda opted for a 3 year lease cost of, a still not very pleasant, $455/month. Some of the EV's remained on the road for a few extra years but ultimately, all of them met the same fate as GM's EV1.

More photos on the way. Here's one from Porsche.

Unfortunately, this was not at the Ride and Drive.

Bitchin' Camaro

The 2011 Audi Camaro  quattro.

Audi apparently spent their entire design budget on the parts of the quattro I could not see.

KIA at the 2010 LA Auto Show

I had a front row seat for another strange KIA unveil...  probably not the best metaphor for a car.

The KIA POP concept, like a balloon.
